You’re qualified. You’re ready. But when it comes to writing strong responses, the words don’t come easily.
And trying to follow STAR, SAO or CAR formats only makes it harder.
For a lot of people, this is where the job search stalls:
In competitive roles, these responses decide what happens next. That’s why they need more than a rushed effort.
When the job means something to you, it’s worth getting the words right.
We work with people across all industries — from graduates to execs — to write selection criteria that feel real and make sense.
It’s not about buzzwords or filling space. It’s about helping you explain what you’ve done and why it matters — in a way that panels understand.
We keep the process personal and focused.
(Price depends on your career level and how complex the responses need to be)
Strong responses can open the door to the role you’ve been working toward.
Our pricing reflects the time, care, and thinking that goes into each response. This is a one-on-one process, tailored to your experience and the role you’re aiming for.
We keep spots limited each month to make sure every client gets the focus they need.
Our resume writing approach is person-centred and places you at the front and centre of your documents.
At Elevate, we help you take full advantage of all the incredible features LinkedIn has to offer.
When a role requires selection criteria to be addressed, or a pitch document, these become the critical component of your job application.
At Elevate, we believe in empowering our clients with the knowledge and tools needed to guide their career path in the long-term.
Send through a few quick details and we’ll be in touch soon.

STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. It’s a way to structure your responses using real examples from your experience to show how you meet the role’s requirements. It’s commonly used in government and public service applications.
Pick examples that match what the criteria are asking for and the capability levels required. Consider leadership and capability frameworks for public service agencies. Aim for examples that are relevant, specific, and show impact. If you’re writing a pitch instead of responding to each criterion, choose examples that cover multiple areas at once.
If there are no guidelines, 150–200 words per criterion is usually a safe range. But always check the job ad or position description — some roles have specific word, page, or character limits. Keep it concise but thorough.
Yes, as long as it clearly fits. Just make sure you present it in a way that highlights the part of the story that’s most relevant to each criterion.
Use what you do have. Think about transferable skills or examples from study, volunteering, or community work. Then explain how they relate to the criteria.
Avoid vague language and general claims. Don’t spend too much time on background and context— focus on what you did and what happened as a result. Be clear, specific, and to the point.
